For a different twist on braiding, try a flat braid with this Square Kumihimo disk. We find that most kumihimo kits come with very unexciting braiding yarns, so we've thrown in ten gorgeous 12-yard bobbins of our hand-painted silk as silk as well as ten EZ Bob thread bobbins, which you will need for this braiding method.
